Central Register of Protected Natural Resources
The facts about protected resources are entered in the Register of Protected Natural Resources.
The Register is an electronic database on protected areas, protected species and movable protected natural specimen, which is maintained as a central register and a register pertaining to data for the autonomous provinces of Serbia.
According to the Rulebook on the Manner and Content of Keeping the Register of Protected Natural Resources, “Official Gazette of RS”, No. 81/2010, the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia has been keeping the Central Register of Protected Natural Resources since its establishment.
The Law on the Protection of Cultural Monuments and Natural Rarities (Official Gazette of the PRS 54/1948) prescribes the obligation of the Institute for Protection and Scientific Research in Natural Rarities of the People's Republic of Serbia to keep a central record of natural rarities on the territory of the People's Republic of Serbia. The Strict Natural Reserve Ostrozub located on the territory of the town of Leskovac and the municipality of Crna Trava was protected on March 27th, 1948 and was the first natural rarity entered in this public record.
