A Visit of Students from Russia to the Institute

August 9, 2021
Organized by the Russian Geographical Center in Belgrade, as part of an expert excursion in Serbia, students of Russian universities visited the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia on August 2, 2021. During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn about areas constituting the system of protected natural areas in our country, management methods of these areas and the way Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia implements measures and regimes on nature conservation.

The students were welcomed to Serbia and the Institute by the Acting Director of the Institute, Marina Šibalić, who on this occasion together with the President of the Russian Geographical Center in Serbia, Professor Miroljub Milinčić, signed the Agreement on cooperation of institutions in the field of education, promotion and exchange of knowledge and experiences related to nature conservation. The lecture on the system of nature conservation in Serbia was held by Verica Stojanović, MSc, after which the students visited the permanent exhibition of the Institute "Nature Conservation".

During the visit, the students showed great interest in the topic and compared the categories of protected areas in Russia and Serbia, pointing out the similarities and differences in dealing with nature conservation. On this occasion, the Institute presented the students with the publication Internationally Important Bird Habitats in Serbia, and after the visit, the students went on a tour of protected areas in Serbia.
